- My fmp will be about redesigning my family. I want to focus on relationships, connections, the invisible bond that ties us together and reveal family narratives.

- A few important facts about my family:

Most of them live in Djerba (Tunisia),

I'm first generation immigrant in Switzerland,

Textile, carpentry, maritime navigation/fishing and business (little shops) have been three important elements in my family for generations.

- First idea: "What's in your pocket?"

Family is something very personal, and usually family matters are kept private. A space that is also very personal and usually kept private is pockets: what about revealing them alongside family stories?

I wanted to use clothes from different generations, cut out their pockets and put either old photos or an object there. But first, I have to deal with two problems:

What is the story I want to tell? The most important issue I am having right now is that I do not know what exactly I want to tell about my family. Who is my family? There is so many possibilities, and I do not know which one would be the most relevant.
How do I show a sense of cohesion and community? How do I tie them all together visually?

- My first instinct was to follow the textile route. I did research on that and how other artists and designers have used clothes in their work. I wanted to find different potential solutions for the second question I had.

- Kaarina Kaikkonen inspired me to -> use clotheslines as a visual representation of a timeline

Margiela's Swiss bag turned into a jacket -> sew together bits and pieces and create a long band

Letitia Huckaby -> draw/print on traditional fabric

Tracey Emin, My bed -> play with location: have the installation set in a small shop? or in a bed room?

- This project could be hard to achieve, especially because of the pandemic. I can't be 100% sure to be able to gather enough material. I am not 100% sure that we will be able to have access to studios until the end of the project, but even if we do, access is restricted. I thought of possible solutions, one of them is to make the installation digital thanks to a website. I also need to consider other objects, and not only clothes/textile: I may discover something even more suitable for my project and more manageable considering the current restrictions.

- Since I will be flying back to London during Spring break, I can't work on a big scale during the 2 first weeks of the project because it would be hard to bring with me.

- Another problem I have: I don't have enough books in my bibliography.
